Finding Skincare Products That Rate Above the Rest

By Al Bracher

Aging skincare is a big business and there are literally hundreds of products available which claim to fight the signs of aging successfully. The facts tell a different story, however. Despite their claims, most products fall far short of providing the kind of thorough treatment we need to keep our skin healthy and youthful looking. The trick is figuring out which products really do work.

That determination begins with understanding your individual needs. Every person is different and not every product will work the same for each person. Therefore, it is extremely important that you are aware of exactly what type of skin you have and what particular problems you need to address. Rating skincare products is a very personalized process and only by knowing your skin can you know what will work.

We all face the same basic skin issues as we age. Depleted collagen leaves the skin taut and lacking elasticity, in turn causing wrinkles. How we treat those problems will vary depending on what kid of skin type we have. Aging skincare can be personalized depending on whether you have dry, oily, or sensitive skin, or some combination of those.

When you are rating skincare products, you'll want to pay close attention to the ingredients each product contains. Generally, those products which contain only all-natural, plant based ingredients will be more effective than those which rely on synthetics. Ingredients such as kaolin, macadamia oil, shea butter and vitamin E can provide safe, effective healing for all skin types and products which contain these ingredients will usually rate higher than any others.

Because natural ingredients don't contain harsh chemicals, they are safe for use on every kind of skin and with their ability to penetrate beneath the surface to address problems at their source, they are a vital part of aging skincare. Macadamia oil and other natural oils provide gentle natural moisturizing and shea butter sooths and heals irritated skin while kaolin, a protein found within the body, helps to replenish lost moisture and remove excess dirt.

One of the most significant additions to natural skincare products is vitamin E and other antioxidants. These powerful fighters rid the body of harmful free radicals and other toxins, helping the skin to heal itself from within. When you are rating skincare products, you'll want to list those which include antioxidants near the top as they can offer a level of healing not possible with other products.

Another important aspect of any aging skincare product is the inclusion of UV protection. Since the sun is more damaging to the skin than any other environmental irritant we come in contact with on a daily basis, it is crucial that skincare products include an SPF factor of at least 15.

Caring for your skin is an ongoing process and one which you can't afford to be too careful about. Get all the facts and find out which skincare products will work the best for you. You can achieve soft, smooth, healthy skin if you know what to look for - so do your homework and don't settle for second best!

Having suffered with skin problems for over a decade, Al Bracher has extensively researched skin care products to find ones that actually work. See the results of the research on and discover the very best natural skin care products on the market today.
