What are Natural Nutritional Supplements and Their Effectiveness

If you are sick and or just not feeling your best, or simply want to ensure that your body has the nutrients it needs, you might want to look into natural nutritional supplements. Diets high in processed foods and sugar leave our bodies in dire need of daily vitamin supplements. But for maximum effectiveness they should include more than just vitamins...the formula should also also contain minerals, extracts, cofactors, enzymes and co-enzymes which work together to prevent disease and restore or maintain the best health possible.

Yet, even among natural nutritional supplements there are significant differences in potency and effectiveness. There are five types of daily vitamin supplements: tablet, capsule, powder, soft gel and liquid.

To be most effective, nutritional vitamin supplements should always include Vitamin A, B-complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin D and Vitamin E. They should also include the following minerals: calcium, copper, chromium, iodine, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum and zinc. Women may also need organic iron.

When evaluating nutritional vitamin supplements, most people forget about liquid vitamins; capsules or tablets more commonly come to mind. Yet, liquid vitamins are natural nutritional supplements which are more easily absorbed by the body. The absorption rate of vitamins in tablet or capsule form is only 40-50% compared to 90% for liquid vitamins. Liquid vitamins can particularly benefit children and the elderly who often have weak or immature digestive enzymes.

By adding daily vitamin supplements to our diet we are able to give our bodies the fuel to remain healthy or regain good health. This is because when we take natural nutritional supplements daily, we replenish the supply of nutrients that can be lost on a daily basis due to the effects of pollution, processed and fatty foods.

There are two final things to consider before deciding on the right nutritional vitamin supplement for you: the first is to look for a high quality broad-spectrum natural nutritional supplement, and the second is to understand that there is a reason for constantly emphasizing “natural” throughout this article. The reason is there are a lot of synthetic vitamins on the market, most of which are sold by pharmacies. Synthetic vitamins are not as effective as their natural counterparts and may even have side-effects.

Remember, good daily vitamin supplements can help prevent vitamin and mineral deficiencies and the problems these can cause.
